RackMountSales:  Physical Security At The Cabinet Level continues to grow and is continuing to be more justifiable as companies deploy their infrastructure needs at colocation facilities, have multiple business units with different cost centers, and of course, the pressure of meeting regulatory compliance requirements. Driven by HIPPA, FISMA, and FIPS to name a few, there is a stronger demand for rack level security. Although data centers require secure access, once in the data center, there is not enough control from the wide range of users accessing the racks. From contractors to various users, the need for physical tracking access has its benefits. Even for simple communication within a 24 7 operation, simply knowing who accessed a certain rack and what hardware was added or what physical changes were made can enhance communication and therefore be beneficial to an organization.
