Caller: I was looking for a light weight rackmount LCD panel and I have a couple of questions. What are the different available sizes and how many options do you offer that support 1920 X 1080 resolution?

Response: Sure, we offer rackmount LCD panels from 2U up to 9U in height, so it depends on your application. You mentioned 1920 X 1080 resolution. We have several options available. If you have enough clearance, you can actually go all the way up to a 23.8” diagonal screen with 1080p resolution. This LCD Panel actually mounts to the front rail and not between the rails like a traditional flush mount LCD panel. We also have a traditional mount, 6U 17” LCD Panel that supports 1920 X 1080. The 6U version is available as a static mount with part number RMP-161-F17 or with a 90 degrees tilt mount, which is part number RMP-161-F17A. The RMP-161-F17A includes handles for easily adjusting the tilt angle plus or minus 45 degrees.

Caller: I am looking at the RMP-161-F17 and I need to know the exact Net weight as we are planning in installing this on a military aircraft and the overall payload is critical. The specification sheet says the net weight is nine point eight pounds. If we need to add HDMI Input, does the weight change?

Response: Adding HDMI will not increase the weight be much. The HDMI PCB is very small. We do not need to modify the sheet metal or add additional sheet metal so the nine-point eight pounds net weight is still an accurate weight to use. The HDMI Input will also provide for the use of the integrated speakers as audio can be transmitted through the HDMI input.

Caller: We don't really need the speaker but it looks like their included anyway. However, we do need to add resistive touchscreen. Any idea how much weight this will add to the Rackmount LCD Panel?

Response: Again, not much weight is added for the touchscreen, it will add about 1 pound to the total net weight. I will confirm what the exact additional weight is from the factory and let you know. The resistive touchscreen default comes with a USB controller, I am assuming that is will work for your installation?

Caller: Yes, that would be awesome. Do you have another monitor that you would recommend that would be a better option for us? We need 1920 X 1080 with HDMI input along with resistive touchscreen. The main feature we need is the lightest weight panel we can find.

Response: The RMP-161-F17 is the most common LCD panel we offer with 1920 X 1080 resolution. It is a high-volume seller. It is also the lightest weight monitor. In addition, I would say resistive touchscreens is also the most popular. The LCD Panel is available with 10-point multi-touch, but it will add more weight and could increase the overall chassis dimensions. The 1920 by 1080 it's certainly pretty common and it's a high-volume monitor for us. Having said that, we also have 6U 4k monitor with 3840 X 2160 resolution with Display Port 1.2 input and HDMI input. So, I guess really depends on your application and what you're doing but that's a pretty good solution. if you only require 1920 by 1080 and the main issue is the weight, the RMP-161-F17-TRB is the solution we recommend.

Caller: The quantity you're looking for is probably around three or four right now, we would maybe need more in the future. What is the lead time for 4 of the LCD Panels?

Response: As I mentioned, these are a high volume mover for us. They are in stock and can ship within on to two days after we receive your order.

Caller: OK, and just to confirm, if there is anything can do to get an LCD Panel with less weight, we would be interested in that. The pay load is very tight as it is. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.
